Woman’s Club Chicken

I’ve been making this recipe for years after finding it in one of my grandma’s old Woman’s Club Cookbooks. It’s just the right combo of sweet and tangy, and Iris loves it.

Usually, I just do it with legs, but Ryan likes thighs, so this time, I made it with a combination. You can use any cut. 🍗

Level: Easy

Prep time: 5 Min

Total time: 45 Min

Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds skin-on, bone-in chicken
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup French dressing
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, grated
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions

  1. Pat chicken dry with a paper towel and season aggressively with salt and pepper. Preheat oven to 350F.

Whisk bbq sauce, dressing, vinegar, garlic in a large bowl.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Brown chicken skin side down for 2-3 minutes.

Toss chicken in sauce (I used a combo of legs and thighs). Save any extra sauce for basting. Place on a baking sheet. Bake 20 minutes at 350F then increase heat to 425F. Spoon remaining sauce on chicken and bake an additional 15-20 minutes.
